If you've ever wondered what RSS is or how to subscribe to DanisLinus or other blogs, here's a little video tutorial to make your life easier. Taking us back to kindergarten, CommonCraft has created a series of tutorial videos using good old fashioned pen and paper. No flashy production here. The genius is in the simplicity. I've got my own step-by-step...
1. Watch the vid below.
2. Click the orange billboard at the top left of your screen and RSS me. You know you want to.
BTW, there's a bunch more helpful videos from CommonCraft here.
As the corporate landscape shifts to attract new young minds, companies are recognizing the importance of the working environment and spending accordingly. It's reported that Google spent over $70 Million to feed it's employees last year. Google even invites the families of employees to visit Googleplex when workers have to stay late. Not surprisingly, Google ended up in Valleywag's Tech's Top 10 Workspaces. All of these companies spend the dollars (or Euros) to spawn creativity in their employees but I think it has more to do with keeping people at the office later. I know I wouldn't mind working in some of these spaces. Check 'em out and when your done, see if your workspace looks more like these instead.
Need another reason to love Gmail? Well, Google is giving you one with their recent introduction of Gmail Custom Time. So, now you can say, "Well, I sent it" in response to, "I never got it." Then run quickly into the other room and send it... three days ago. But be careful, God is watching and Gmail is only "allowing each person no more than ten pre-dated emails per year as it would
cause people to lose faith in the accuracy of time, thus rendering the
feature useless."
